World Environment Day 2022: Prime minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) will launch the global initiative ‘Lifestyle for the Environment Life’ campaign through video conferencing on Sunday on the occasion of World Environment Day. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that during this time the ‘Life Global Call for Papers’ will also be launched, in which academics, universities and research institutions in order to call upon individuals, communities and organizations across the world to adopt an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The PMO said the event will include Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, climate economist Lord Nicholas Stern, Nudge Theory author Cass Sunstein, CEO and President of the World Resources Institute. Aniruddha Dasgupta, Inger Anderson, Global Head of the United Nations Environment Programme, Achim Steiner, Global Head of the United Nations Development Program and World Bank President David Malpass will be present among others.

The Prime Minister will also deliver the keynote address during this program. The idea of ’LIFE’ was introduced by the Prime Minister during the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow last year, which promotes an environmentally conscious lifestyle.
