Rajya Sabha Election 2022: For the Rajya Sabha elections, the political stir in Haryana seems to be intensifying. Here it has become very difficult for the Congress to save one of its Rajya Sabha seats. Despite all the efforts of the party, now the Rajya Sabha seat seems to be slipping out of hands. The party shifted all the MLAs to Chhattisgarh for fear of cross voting, but three MLAs are said to be missing, who have not yet reached the resort of Raipur. These include angry MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi.
Angry MLAs can spoil the game of Congress
It is being told that apart from Haryana Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi, Kiran Chaudhary and Chiranjeev Rao have not reached Raipur. There is a stir in the party regarding these three MLAs. Trying to celebrate them somehow. Because if this does not happen then these three MLAs can spoil the game of Congress. Due to which the Rajya Sabha seat will slip from the hands of the party. However, it is being claimed by the Congress that the party MLAs will reach Raipur soon.
Since the Congress has only 31 MLAs in the 90-member Haryana Assembly, an equal number of MLAs’ votes are needed to win. The party is being told the support of an independent MLA. In such a situation, if three MLAs of the party cross-voting, then it is difficult to get a Rajya Sabha seat. Fearing this cross-voting, the Congress had ordered its MLAs to reach Raipur, after which all the MLAs reached the resort of Raipur, but three MLAs remained absent.
Big opportunity for Kartikeya Sharma
Now on one hand, where the equations of Congress seem to be deteriorating, on the other hand it is like a big opportunity for independent candidate Karthikeya Sharma. Sharma made the Haryana Rajya Sabha election quite interesting with his candidacy. He has the support of BJP and its ally JJP. BJP has 41 MLAs, while JJP has 10 MLAs. There is also support of 6 independent MLAs. One MLA each is also from INLD and Haryana Lokhit Party. In such a situation, even if Sharma gets the vote of some Congress MLAs, then he will easily take out the Rajya Sabha seat.
At present, there is a crisis situation for the Congress. The MLAs who have been appointed in Raipur will now be brought back directly on the day of voting. Till then all the MLAs have been kept under tight security in the resort. Now it will be interesting to see whether the Congress MLAs return in the next few days. At present, there is a close contest between Congress candidate Ajay Maken and Independent candidate Karthikeya Sharma. On the other hand, BJP candidate Krishna Lal Panwar will easily reach the Rajya Sabha.
